As a result, the figure of the male teacher has become the norm, while feminine voices remain in the shadows or pushed into supportive, secondary roles.
But historically, **women have always been keepers of deep yogic wisdom**. From the tantrikas and yoginis of Northeast India to the Himalayan nuns and rural healers who passed down cyclic, ritual knowledge of the body — their legacy is immense, though rarely acknowledged.
Yoga didn’t begin in urban studios or algorithm-approved Vinyasa sequences. It began in caves, in kitchens, in silence. It was invoked by women who understood spirituality not as a technique to control the body, but as a **dance with it**.

Shakti Yoga of the 64 Yoginis: The Devotional Path to Sacred Transformation
At Samadhi House, we do not practice secular or standardized yoga. Our path is that of Shakti Yoga, an ancient and deeply devotional tradition nourished by the living presence of the 64 Yoginis — archetypal manifestations of the divine feminine energy.
The Yoginis are not just deities; they are portals to inner transformation. Each one embodies a unique energetic frequency, a living wisdom, and a specific therapeutic power. In the Tantric tradition, they are organized into 8 clans or sacred circles, each linked to an element (earth, water, fire, air, ether) and the alchemical processes of purification, healing, expansion, and liberation.
Our yoga programs do not follow a generic sequence. We design personalized practices, either for individuals or groups, based on the energy one wishes to invoke or transform. Each sequence may include:

The location itself is uplifting, and honestly, the dogs make it even better. Dawa completely stole my heart. Moon and Danny are incredibly heart-warming people to be around. I came here wanting to unwind, declutter, and reset and Samadhi felt like the perfect place for exactly that while being held. The food is an icing on the cake; clean, palette refreshing and delicious!!

Their big dog Baby was an absolute sweetheart and added so much love to the home. The energy here is beautiful and peaceful. The furniture is thoughtfully curated, the garden is perfectly maintained, and the rooftop quickly became my favorite spot. I came for the Sound Healing training, which was transformative, and the daily yoga classes were fantastic. The food was delicious and nourishing every day.
